Deutsche Telekom Security has begun offering new cybersecurity services in collaboration with Akamai under the latter’s Security Certified Service Provider programme, aiming to bolster API security and microsegmentation support for enterprise customers. The expanded offering delivers proactive “Day-2 operations”, which encompass continuous end-to-end management of an organisation’s API security lifecycle, including hybrid deployments, quarterly business reviews, API audits and compliance, security incident management and proactive API testing.

In addition to API protection, Deutsche Telekom Security is extending its support to Akamai Guardicore Segmentation environments, providing specialised services such as segmentation administration, incident management and compliance audits. These services are deployable on sovereign cloud environments to help regulated organisations maintain data sovereignty and meet stringent regulatory requirements.

The move comes as demand for robust API security and microsegmentation solutions surges in response to a dramatic rise in API attacks. According to a 2025 Akamai State of the Internet report, recorded API attacks surged to 150 billion between January 2023 and December 2024, underscoring the importance of comprehensive protection against threats that can lead to data breaches, financial losses and reputational harm.
