Global programme to train data centre professionals First apprentices placed at Slough campus What happened: Global apprenticeship plan for data centres Yondr Group and CBRE have initiated a global apprenticeship programme aimed at developing skilled professionals in the data centre industry. The programme will be implemented across all Yondr data centre projects worldwide. Apprentices will be recruited once a data centre becomes operational, working on-site with Yondr and CBRE teams. They will receive training towards certifications in administration, critical environment engineering, and management. The first project to benefit is Yondr’s 100MW London campus in Slough, where one apprentice has started, and a second is being recruited. Each of the three data centres at the campus will host two apprentices. By the end of 2025, Yondr plans to recruit four apprentices in Slough and two each in the Netherlands, Germany, the US, and Malaysia. The programme aligns with local apprenticeship models and includes mentoring from Yondr and CBRE colleagues. This initiative is part of Yondr’s social impact strategy to create value and opportunities in communities surrounding its data centres.
