According to the latest report from market research firm Omdia, Samsung Electronics of South Korea once again topped global TV sales, marking its 18th consecutive year at the top since 2006. The report indicates that Samsung held a 30.1% share of the global TV market in 2023.

Samsung offers a range of products from budget-friendly LCD TVs to high-end Micro LED TVs. In 2023, Samsung sold 8.31 million units of QLED and Neo QLED TVs, with total sales exceeding 44 million units since the launch of its first QLED TV in 2017.

Samsung also maintained its lead in the ultra-premium TV market (priced at $2,500 or more, with a size of 75 inches or larger), with a market share of 60.5%, up 12.2 percentage points from 48.3% in 2022.

Samsung’s OLED TVs capture a market share of 22.7%

Since introducing its first OLED TV in 2022, Samsung has sold over 1 million units of OLED TVs, capturing a market share of 22.7%. With more size options available this year, Samsung expects further growth in OLED TV sales.

Yongseok Lu, President of Samsung Electronics’ Display Business, stated: “Our achievement of being the global TV market leader for 18 consecutive years is thanks to consumer trust. We will continue to introduce various innovations to enrich consumers’ daily lives.”

Samsung plans to make Micro LED TVs more accessible to consumers in the coming years by lowering prices and introducing smaller sizes.
