  • Nokia’s Broadband Easy automates fibre rollouts, improving efficiency by 20%.
  • AI-powered platform reduces costs and expands fibre access to underserved areas.

What happened: Nokia introduces Broadband Easy to accelerate fibre expansion

Nokia has launched Broadband Easy, a digital platform designed to streamline and automate fibre deployments. The solution provides operators with full visibility and control over rollout projects, leveraging AI and automation to optimise network design, installations, and budgeting.

The platform aims to accelerate fibre expansion, particularly in underserved areas, reducing deployment costs and improving efficiency by 20%. By integrating automation and AI, Broadband Easy enhances fibre network certification, optimises subcontractor management, and ensures real-time data exchange for improved inventory tracking. The solution also integrates with Nokia’s Altiplano Access Controller and Design Centre for seamless network deployment.

Industry analysts highlight the importance of such advancements, with IDATE Principal Analyst Roland Montagne noting that 74 million homes in Europe remain unconnected. Nokia’s Sandy Motley, President of Fixed Networks, emphasised that Broadband Easy will help operators cut costs, speed up rollouts, and bring high-speed connectivity to more communities worldwide.

Why it’s important

Broadband Easy is a significant step in addressing the global digital divide. The platform’s AI-driven capabilities help reduce the total cost of ownership, making it easier for broadband providers to expand high-speed internet access. Operators using this solution can digitise deployment processes, improve resource allocation, and accelerate project completion.

Fibre connectivity is crucial for economic growth, digital transformation, and access to essential services. With automation improving rollout speeds, underserved communities can gain faster access to reliable internet, supporting education, healthcare, and business operations. Nokia’s innovation aligns with the broader industry goal of making fibre broadband more accessible on a global scale.
