ACC 2025 ends with workshops and masterclasses in Cebu

  • The Asia Carrier Conference (ACC) 2025 convened from 15 to 19 September in Cebu, Philippines. The event featured technical workshops, infrastructure masterclasses, and panels covering subsea cables, 5G, cloud, and intelligent connectivity.
  • Key topics included 5G deployment, subsea cable development, cloud interconnection, data centres, IoT, and cybersecurity in Asia Pacific.

What happened: ACC 2025 Cebu spotlights hands-on workshops and infrastructure innovation

ACC 2025 opened in Cebu with participatory workshops aimed at telecom operators, cloud providers, and enterprises. These workshops addressed real-world issues such as undersea cable expansion, interconnection between markets, 5G trials, IoT use cases, and cloud adoption.

One masterclass by China Mobile International showcased “global infrastructure” and “AI+ Smart Solutions,” showing how operators can use network + cloud + AI to build value-added digital services beyond pure connectivity. There were also interactive sessions on carrier services, interconnection, and strategies for managing traffic, reinforcing cyber-defences, and optimizing cloud interconnect.

Why this is important

For Asia Pacific’s digital infrastructure, ACC 2025 Cebu served as a key forum where technical challenges meet strategic solutions. Workshops addressing subsea cables and interconnection are vital because many regions remain underserved or face bottlenecks in capacity and resilience.

The masterclasses and hands-on sessions help bridge the gap between strategy and execution: operators not only heard what should be done (e.g. cloud adoption, IoT, 5G), but in many sessions saw how to do it, e.g. troubleshooting congestion, reinforcing security.

Given the rapid digitalization in this region, discussions around intelligent connectivity, cloud network interconnect, data centres, and cybersecurity are foundational. They will shape how telecom/ICT companies bundle services, ensure reliable infrastructure, and partner for cross-border connectivity.
