Under this partnership, Volkswagen Group’s brands including Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Porsche will swiftly incorporate advanced driving functionalities, such as automatic overtaking on multi-lane highways, automatic parking at red lights and stop signs, and support at intersections and roundabouts.

Additionally, Mobileye will provide more autonomous driving technology components for Volkswagen’s commercial vehicles. Volkswagen’s long-term goal is to rely on its complete in-house system, collaborating with partners like Bosch, Qualcomm, and China’s Horizon.

Systems will be based on CARIAD’s software architecture

All driving assistance systems will be based on software architecture developed by Volkswagen’s CARIAD subsidiary. Mobileye plans to offer Level 2 (Partial Automation) driving features within Volkswagen Group in the future, allowing drivers to temporarily remove their hands from the steering wheel while remaining attentive to traffic and ready to intervene.
