Summary
- Radware reported $84.4 million of third-quarter revenue, up 12%, and $107 million of cloud annual recurring revenue, up 21%. Its GAAP net income from continuing operations fell from $8.2 million to $4.5 million.
- The company announced a seven-year DDoS infrastructure agreement with an existing, unnamed cloud customer. It disclosed the equipment and subscription products, but no price, delivery schedule or revenue split.
The customer signed for seven years; the quarter signed for less
The new agreement is a useful test of how much can be read into a contract headline. Radware will supply DefensePro X380 appliances, an enterprise licence, security-update subscriptions and Cyber Controller to an existing cloud customer. Hardware, licensing and subscription support can land in different revenue periods. The announcement gives neither a contract value nor the allocation among those components. Seven years tells readers the intended relationship's duration; it does not price the relationship.
The third-quarter results show the supplier growing. Revenue reached $84.4 million, 12% above the prior year. Cloud ARR reached $107 million, 21% higher. Radware defines ARR as the annualised value of in-force booked orders for term cloud services, subscription licences and maintenance. It is a snapshot of recurring contract value, not cash collected this quarter. The deal was announced on 27 October, after the 30 September quarter-end. The announcement gives no effective date or value, so the public record cannot say whether any of it entered Q3 ARR.
Current profit tells a different story. GAAP net income from continuing operations was $4.5 million, down from $8.2 million a year earlier. Non-GAAP income also fell, from $14.8 million to $13.9 million. Radware attributes $4.6 million of adverse expense movement to the Israeli shekel's appreciation against the US dollar. It calculates that non-GAAP income would have been $17.8 million excluding the exchange-rate effect. The $4.6 million expense figure and the $3.9 million after-tax non-GAAP difference are different measures; collapsing them into one margin adjustment would make the quarter look cleaner than the reconciliation allows.
The balance sheet gives Radware room to execute: it reported $15.5 million of operating cash inflow from continuing operations for the quarter and $421.5 million in cash, bank deposits and marketable securities at 30 September. Neither figure assigns value to the new customer contract. The directory-linked issuer Only for Strategic Circle has a real order, a growing recurring-value metric and cash. The missing commercial line is the contract's price and how its four components reach the income statement.
