The new item is a post-event letter from Arista Networks, which hosted JANOG58 in Matsuyama. It is not an independent performance report. Its value is that the host places the physical format and the event network in the same account: the main building and its annex were used for four concurrent sessions, BoFs and exhibitions, while a NOC assembled and ran the venue network.

According to that account, the build used Arista equipment with support from Ehime CATV and gave JANOG, for the first time, an Internet connection using two 400 Gigabit Ethernet links. The host says the conference experienced no major accident or trouble and describes the network environment as stable and comfortable. It does not publish traffic levels, link utilisation, packet loss, redundancy behaviour or an independently audited availability result.

That boundary matters. The letter supports a narrow observation: JANOG58’s host chose a materially larger concurrent-event layout and a dual-400GbE uplink design, then described the event as having closed cleanly. It does not establish a general capacity benchmark for other operator meetings or prove that the same design will perform identically elsewhere.
