Arista Networks has made a firmer promise to its suppliers than many customers make to Arista. Almost all of its US$9.7 billion of non-cancellable purchase commitments is due for receipt within twelve months, while the customer side still passes through orders, trials, acceptance clauses, deferred revenue and cash collection. The AI-network boom is therefore not only a demand story. It is a conversion test with a deadline.

JANOG58’s most consequential wireless result was not a headline speed test. Faced with an overflow of sponsor booths in a separate annex, the meeting team assembled a licensed local-5G service, provisioned it through CPE routers and operated it across three conference days—creating a useful field record for organisers who normally treat spectrum, venue networking and exhibitor access as separate problems.

Japan's network operators planned for an address-table surge that never arrived. Their new field data instead shows a subtler cost: private MAC rotation enlarged and destabilised the identity state used to operate the venue network.

Arista Networks has turned the AI-network forecast into contracts on both sides of its business—but not contracts with the same shape. Record revenue and a large future-revenue balance show real demand. US$9.7 billion of enforceable supplier commitments show how much inventory risk the company has accepted to serve it.
