The ballot opened the door. The deed still holds the switch.
Resolution 2 passed at RIPE NCC’s General Meeting on 30 October. It adopts the Articles amendments announced by the Executive Board on 30 September and instructs and authorises that Board to do what is required to execute them before a Dutch civil-law notary. A proposal has become an implementation mandate.
Under the proposed structure, the seven members elected by the membership would remain non-executive members of one Board, while the CEO would join it as an executive member. RIPE NCC described the change as bringing its formal structure into line with current practice. The amendment has been approved; the result notice does not say when the new structure begins.
The published 2024 Articles set out the timing rule. Article 21.3 requires at least two-thirds of votes cast to amend the Articles. Article 21.4 says an amendment takes effect only when a notarial deed is executed. The result confirms member approval and gives the Executive Board the next recorded task: complete that deed.
The participation figures need their own denominator. RIPE NCC says 1,275 members registered to vote and 1,102 cast ballots. Those numbers describe the registered electorate, not the whole membership. The result page names no date for notarial execution.
That date is the missing operational marker. The vote authorised the change; the executed deed will show when the approved model becomes the formal Board structure.
