Summary
- The RIPE role object TA8097-RIPE ("Tideo Administration") was created and last modified on 28 July 2021 and has not been touched since, yet it remains listed as both admin-c and tech-c of AS210972.
- Third-party mirrors of the RIPE record disagree about what that record still says: IPIP.NET and CIDR Report display TA8097-RIPE, while bgp.tools and Hurricane Electric mask the contacts as DUMY-RIPE with personal-data-removal notices.
- The operator's own notice at tideo.connect365.dk, signed "Kevin Als", announced the closure of all Tideo ApS hosting services effective 1 April 2025, with parent Connect365 ApS continuing in managed services and IoT.
- Hurricane Electric reports AS210972 has not been visible in the global routing table since 16 April 2026; RIPEstat shows no prefixes visible in RIS; the sole observed peer was GlobalConnect A/S (AS31027), and the single originated prefix was 2a03:302:ffff::/48.
A role object in the RIPE Database is, by RIPE's own documentation, a description of a business function or operational unit rather than a named individual. "Tideo Administration" (nic-hdl TA8097-RIPE), registered with the address Tingvejen 30G, 6500 Vojens, and an e-mail address on the operator's own tideo.dk domain — its exact mailbox is stated in the lower tiers of this briefing — under maintainer TIDEODK-MNT, fits that definition exactly — and it is precisely this anonymity-by-design that the record preserves.
The object was created on 28 July 2021 at 09:15:18 UTC and carries the identical last-modified timestamp, meaning nothing about the contact surface has changed in more than five years.
The aut-num AS210972 (TIDEO-AS, Tideo ApS) was registered on 30 July 2021 to organisation ORG-TA1587-RIPE, with sponsoring organisation ORG-WA448-RIPE and maintainers RIPE-NCC-END-MNT, TIDEODK-MNT and wnb-aps. The organisation object carries abuse-c ACRO42495-RIPE; the role object itself carries no abuse-mailbox attribute. Aggregators such as CIDR Report nevertheless print the abuse contact for AS210972 as the same tideo.dk mailbox the role object names, collapsing the registry's layered contact model back into a single mailbox.
What makes this case instructive is the sequence of events around a record that never changed. The operator announced on its own page that all Tideo ApS hosting services would close on 1 April 2025 and that data would be permanently deleted thereafter. Hurricane Electric's snapshot records AS210972 as absent from the global routing table since 16 April 2026. Yet the registry's accountability surface — the role object, the aut-num references, the organisation object — persists unchanged. Mirrors even disagree about the org object's last-modified date: bgp.tools shows 1 December 2022, while the IPIP.NET mirror shows 13 May 2026.
The factual record therefore shows an accountability surface that outlived the business it described. Whether anyone still answers that mailbox is not something public registry data can establish. What the record does establish is the structure: a role handle, frozen since 2021, still designated as the responsible contact for a network number that currently announces nothing.
