- Sangha said its planned Texas data-centre campus received conditional Base Load classification through ERCOT's Batch Zero process, with verification still under way
- The project has about 19.9MW available now and expects another 90.5MW in May 2028, taking its planned total to 110.4MW
The fact
Sangha Renewables said on 11 September that its planned Texas data-centre campus had received conditional Base Load classification through ERCOT's Batch Zero process. The classification remains subject to ERCOT's audit and verification work.
The company reports about 19.9MW of available power, with rights to a further 90.5MW allocation expected in May 2028. Together, those figures form the planned 110.4MW campus, although the larger allocation is not available today. Sangha intends the site for AI, cloud and other computing workloads.
ERCOT also shared that most large-load projects conditionally included in Batch Zero would receive requests for information as part of a verification process introduced after a gubernatorial direction in August. Interconnecting transmission providers are responsible for coordinating complete responses with customers and distribution providers.
The assessment
The 110.4MW headline combines power that sits on two very different timelines. Sangha says 19.9MW is available now, while another 90.5MW is expected in May 2028. A customer planning an earlier deployment therefore needs to know which part of its load can actually be supported before that later allocation arrives.
There is also work left on the grid side. Sangha's classification is conditional, and ERCOT's process requires information to move between the developer, transmission provider, distribution provider and grid operator. That makes verification part of the project timetable rather than a paperwork step that can be treated as already complete.
For BTW readers, the useful number is not simply 110.4MW. It is how much power can support each phase of the campus, and when. A clearer construction and energisation schedule would show whether Sangha can match customer deployments to the power available at each stage.
What to watch
Watch for Sangha to complete ERCOT's verification process and publish a development schedule tied to its two power positions. The most useful detail would be when the additional 90.5MW becomes firm enough to support construction, equipment installation and customer service commitments.
