Summary

  • The Trustpilot business page for NovaCloud-Hosting still carries the notice that reviews are closed "because the company's website has closed", while the operator homepage's structured data still lists InStock offers priced from EUR 2.00–3.50 per month; no live checkout was performed in this pass.
  • The operator's FFM2 incident record attributes the July 2026 outage — started 20 July, resolved 8 August, 19 days, severity Major outage — to "false filtering of PletX, which dropped TCP connections", yet the operator's own network page still lists PletX (AS62403) as an Active upstream, and bgp.tools reports PletX absent from the current upstream set.
  • Routing mirrors continue to disagree on AS209874's prefix counts: bgp.tools reports 22 IPv4/16 IPv6, Hurricane Electric 17/17, ipregistry 17 IPv4/22 IPv6, and CIDR Report about 21.
  • Prefix 5.83.150.0/24, registered in February 2026 under an operator-linked organisation with netname NovaCloudHosting and a geofeed served from novacloud-hosting.com infrastructure, is not visible in the global routing table per bgp.tools.

NovaCloud-Hosting is the brand under which Tech Tide Portugal Unipessoal LDA markets hosting services from datacenters it identifies in Frankfurt and Eygelshoven, over its own autonomous system AS209874 (https://novacloud-hosting.com/). The operator homepage's structured data still lists seven service categories with offers marked InStock at prices from EUR 2.00–3.50 per month (https://novacloud-hosting.com/). A shop subdomain on the same domain also surfaces products in indexed form (https://shop.novacloud-hosting.com/?language=english). Against that, the Trustpilot business page carries a standing notice that it is no longer possible to leave a review because the company's website has closed (https://www.trustpilot.com/review/novacloud-hosting.com). Trustpilot's own notice format can persist after a domain moves or temporarily goes offline, and no live checkout test was performed; the contradiction between storefront and review platform is therefore documented, not adjudicated.

The operator's own incident record is the clearest statement of what happened in July 2026: the FFM2 (Frankfurt) outage started on 20 July 2026 at 08:05 UTC, was declared resolved on 8 August 2026 at 14:00 UTC, lasted 19 days, and carries the severity Major outage (https://novacloud.instatus.com/cmrsxwgnz06wh1ao0b04o4obb). Its cause is attributed to "false filtering of PletX, which dropped TCP connections" (https://novacloud.instatus.com/cmrsxwgnz06wh1ao0b04o4obb). Yet the operator's network page, as pulled in this pass, still lists PletX GmbH (AS62403) among three upstream providers marked Active, alongside Tube-Hosting (AS49581) and IP-Projects (AS48314), with datacenters NTT FRA1 in Frankfurt and SkyLink in Eygelshoven (https://as209874.net/). The third-party mirror bgp.tools reports a different current upstream set for AS209874 — SMARTNET LIMITED (AS203446), Tube-Hosting (AS49581) and TELE90 Telecom GmbH (AS215787) — in which PletX does not appear (https://bgp.tools/as/209874). The same page reproduces the RIPE registration: registered 24 April 2025 to ORG-MWUL2-RIPE, network status Active (https://bgp.tools/as/209874). An earlier source snapshot of Hurricane Electric's mirror shows the aut-num as-name TECHTIDE, created 2025-04-24 and last-modified 2026-02-26 (https://bgp.he.net/AS209874).

That divergence is not limited to upstreams. The mirrors cannot agree on how many prefixes AS209874 announces: bgp.tools reports 22 IPv4 and 16 IPv6 prefixes (https://bgp.tools/as/209874); Hurricane Electric reports 34 total, 17 IPv4 and 17 IPv6, with RPKI Originated Valid at 33 and Invalid at 0 (https://bgp.he.net/AS209874); ipregistry reports 17 IPv4 and 22 IPv6 with roughly 4,352 IPv4 addresses (https://ipregistry.co/AS209874); IPinfo reports 4,352 IPv4 and 1,206 hosted domains with 8 peers (https://ipinfo.io/AS209874). Prior BTW analysis recorded the same pattern of mirror disagreement across five sources (https://btw.media/en/novacloud-as209874-routing-mirrors).

One specific prefix sharpens the picture. Bgp.tools states that 5.83.150.0/24 — originated by AS209874 — is "not visible in the DFZ right now"; its inetnum carries netname NovaCloudHosting under org ORG-TTPU1-RIPE, was created 3 February 2026, is maintained by GHOSTNET-MNT, and publishes a geofeed on novacloud-hosting.com infrastructure (https://bgp.tools/prefix/5.83.150.0/24). A resource registered under an operator-linked organisation and named after the brand, but not globally routable, is precisely the kind of observable that distinguishes announced capacity from operating capacity.

The operator's own status surfaces add texture rather than resolution. One capture of the main status page shows "All systems operational" with 100.0% uptime for Website and Dashboard (https://novacloud.instatus.com/); a second status page was captured showing "Experiencing partial outage" with per-service restore states in which Standard VPS DE and Dedicated/Colocation remained down after IP-Transit and High-End VPS were restored (https://novacloud-hosting.instatus.com/). Which capture is temporally current cannot be established from indexed views alone (https://novacloud-hosting.instatus.com/).

The other NovaCloud network, AS214789 in Kazakhstan, runs Nova Cloud LLP (novacloud.kz): 768 IPv4 addresses across three /24s — 78.109.18.0/24, 91.147.110.0/24, 194.164.115.0/24 — with 0 IPv6, allocated 31 May 2024, two upstreams (AS35104 Jusan Mobile JSC and AS43994 SMARTNET TOO) and no downstreams (https://ipinfo.io/AS214789, https://bgp.tools/as/214789, https://www.cidr-report.org/cgi-bin/as-report?as=AS214789&view=2.0). Its mirrors agree on counts but disagree on labelling: prior BTW reporting notes Hurricane Electric labels 194.164.115.0/24 as "Anna Revenko trading as Ip.Rent" while bgp.tools and IPinfo attribute it to Nova Cloud LLP (https://btw.media/en/novacloud-as209874-routing-mirrors, https://btw.media/en/novacloud-kazakhstan-cloud-service-reality). No public document attributes both ASNs to a single beneficial owner, and no registry object carries the exact handle novacloud-admin (https://btw.media/en/novacloud-kazakhstan-cloud-service-reality). Prior BTW reporting also documents the maintainer split (https://btw.media/en/novacloud-maintainer-split-en).

What would close the gap

The gap closes when independent observations converge, not when any one page changes. Concrete conditions: a successful live checkout against the storefront alongside removal of the Trustpilot closed-website notice; the operator's upstream list and bgp.tools' upstream set agreeing on PletX's status; the four mirrors converging on a single prefix count for AS209874; and 5.83.150.0/24 becoming visible in the global routing table. Until those conditions are observable, the announced-versus-operable question for NovaCloud-Hosting remains open — with the July incident record, unusually, filed by the operator itself as the strongest single piece of evidence that service continuity failed for 19 days.
