  • Lambda and EdgeConneX collaborate on building high-density AI data centres in Chicago and Atlanta.
  • The facilities will utilise hybrid cooling technologies and support next-generation AI and cloud workloads.

What happened: Lambda and EdgeConneX to build 30MW AI data centres with hybrid cooling

AI infrastructure provider Lambda is joining up with EdgeConneX to establish more than 30 megawatts (MW) of high-density data centre place in Atlanta and Chicago. The 23MW single-tenant data centre in Chicago is scheduled to be active by 2026. To support advanced AI and cloud workloads, the two locations will make usage of hybrid cooling technologies, which combine air cooling and liquid-to-the-chip direct cooling. With densities exceeding 600 kW per rack, EdgeConneX’s Ingenuity solution has been developed for managing workloads that include high-performance computing (HPC), AI training, and inferencing.
