Erland Karim noted, “Since the last COVID hits, there has been significant growth in the digital industry, with hyperscale companies like Google, Amazon, Alibaba, Tencent, and Huawei making their presence felt in Indonesia.” BDDC’s state-of-the-art facilities cater to these giants, providing low-latency connectivity and creating an ecosystem that supports over 1,000 ISPs in the country.

Since the last COVID hits, there has been significant growth in the digital industry, with hyperscale companies like Google, Amazon, Alibaba, Tencent, and Huawei making their presence felt in Indonesia. The data centres in West and South Jakarta, with a combined capacity of 60 megawatts, underscore BDDC’s capability to support Indonesia’s burgeoning digital market. BDDC is also leading the charge in sustainability. The company received an award from Uptime for innovation in data centre design at the end of 2023. Their new facility in South Jakarta boasts green certifications and advanced water management systems. “We are trying to make it green as much as possible because we need to manage our ecosystem and reduce BOE,” Karim shared. This focus on sustainability aligns with global trends and sets a benchmark for the industry in Indonesia.
