Summary

  • On 8 October 2026 the RIPE Database authoritative REST endpoint for aut-num AS210860 returned HTTP 404, and an RIPE full-text search for AS210860 with the aut-num filter returned 'ERROR:101: no entries found in source RIPE'. These are observed lookup outcomes only; they do not establish a deletion date, cause or finality.
  • The organisation object ORG-EDG14-RIPE remains present in a filtered RIPE response of the same morning: org-name 'EDEKA Verwaltungs- und Beteiligungs GmbH', org-type LIR, created 10 June 2021, last modified 29 June 2026. The organisation object being live does not imply the aut-num is.
  • The routing side is now primary-verified beyond a single prefix: RIPEstat announced-prefixes for AS197909 over the 8 October 2026 00:00–08:00 UTC window, excluding routes seen by fewer than ten RIS full-feed peers, lists four IPv4 prefixes — 193.20.0.0/15, 94.154.2.0/24, 185.240.72.0/22 and 193.35.80.0/22 — and five IPv6 entries: 2a12:ee40::/29, 2a0d:6140::/29, 2a07:2680::/29, 2a0c:7580::/29 and 2a0d:6140::/32. The IPv6 entries overlap — 2a0d:6140::/32 is contained in 2a0d:6140::/29 — so they are route entries, not five disjoint address blocks.
  • RIPEstat routing-status at query_time 2026-10-08T08:00 reports four IPv4 prefixes totalling 133,376 IPs, five IPv6 entries, 326 of 327 RIS peers seeing IPv4 and 316 of 316 seeing IPv6, and 2 observed neighbours. The /15 accounts for 131,072 addresses, a computed 98.27% of AS197909's announced IPv4 space at that snapshot.
  • Four RIPEstat RPKI validations retrieved on 8 October 2026 around 12:27 UTC return valid for all four tested IPv4 prefix/AS197909 combinations — 193.20.0.0/15 (max-length 15), 94.154.2.0/24 (max-length 24), 185.240.72.0/22 (max-length 22) and 193.35.80.0/22 (max-length 22). No IPv6 prefix and no AS210860-origin combination was tested; RPKI validity is cryptographic route-origin authorisation, not legal ownership.

Two registry facts that must not be merged

The registered layer around EDEKA now splits into two very different findings, and conflating them was the defect of earlier reporting.

The organisation record is unambiguously live. The filtered RIPE response for ORG-EDG14-RIPE exposes the legal entity name, the LIR type, a creation date of 10 June 2021 and a last-modified date of 29 June 2026. That 2026 modification, retrieved directly from RIPE on 8 October 2026, supersedes the mirror-derived dates that circulated previously — including a once-reported 13 May 2026 mirror rendering and any suggestion that the organisation layer has been untouched since 2021. The filtered view does not disclose which attributes were modified.

The aut-num record is a different story. Both the object endpoint and the type-filtered search returned no retrievable entry on 8 October 2026. A no-result lookup is exactly that: an observed outcome of these two query paths at these timestamps. It does not by itself prove deletion, dissolution or any specific event, and no evidence in this pass establishes when or why the record became unretrievable — nor does any prior primary retrieval exist in this evidence pass against which a transition could be dated. Earlier mirror renderings that showed aut-num AS210860 with a last-modified date of 27 October 2021 cannot be reconciled with the current outcome and must be treated as historical mirror observations, not current facts.

The routing layer: multiple prefixes, primary-verified

The routing layer is not a single-prefix story. RIPEstat announced-prefixes for AS197909 over the 8 October 2026 00:00–08:00 UTC window, with results excluding routes seen by fewer than ten RIS full-feed peers, lists four IPv4 prefixes — 193.20.0.0/15, 94.154.2.0/24, 185.240.72.0/22 and 193.35.80.0/22 — and five IPv6 entries: 2a12:ee40::/29, 2a0d:6140::/29, 2a07:2680::/29, 2a0c:7580::/29 and 2a0d:6140::/32. The IPv6 entries include an overlap (2a0d:6140::/32 is contained in 2a0d:6140::/29), so they are route entries, not five disjoint address blocks. RIPEstat routing-status at query_time 2026-10-08T08:00 reports four IPv4 prefixes totalling 133,376 IPs, five IPv6 entries, 326 of 327 RIS peers seeing IPv4 and 316 of 316 seeing IPv6, and 2 observed neighbours. The RIPEstat prefix-overview query of 7 October 2026, 16:00 UTC remains a valid snapshot: 193.20.0.0/15 announced, originated solely by AS197909, holder EDEKA-RS EDEKA Rechenzentrum Sued Betriebs GmbH. The /15 accounts for 131,072 of 133,376 announced IPv4 addresses, a computed 98.27% share at the 2026-10-08 snapshot; this is arithmetic over the cited snapshot, not a guarantee across dates. The same picture appears in the RIPEstat resource views for AS197909 and, as a rendering of the lookup state, the RIPEstat page for AS210860.

Historical routing observations for AS210860 exist but are dated and secondary. Hurricane Electric's AS210860 page carried a July 2026 page stamp showing no prefixes announced, and RIPEstat RIS datapoints dated 14 September 2026 support the same zero-announcement picture. No October 2026 primary routing observation for AS210860 exists in this pass, and the current aut-num no-result makes the historical zero-announcement frame incomplete rather than contradictory.

Peer counts: collector snapshots, not facts

Peer and visibility figures must be attributed and dated, never generalised. Hurricane Electric's historical page snapshots frame counts as observed peers: 1 peer, AS9211, for AS210860 versus 2 for AS197909; neither figure carries a stated observation time. RIPEstat's routing-status endpoint reports observed_neighbours 2 for AS197909 at query_time 2026-10-08T08:00, a different measurement path that is not commensurable with HE page counts. No cross-collector peer-count values are established here; quote a collector, its ASN and its snapshot time, or do not quote the figure.

Authorisation, self-declaration and the corporate trail

Route-origin authorisation for AS197909's tested IPv4 prefixes is now primary-validated, while the older mirror disagreement remains unresolved at its edges. RIPEstat rpki-validation retrieved 2026-10-08 around 12:27 UTC returns valid for 193.20.0.0/15 (max-length 15), 94.154.2.0/24 (max-length 24), 185.240.72.0/22 (max-length 22) and 193.35.80.0/22 (max-length 22), each with a single validating ROA for origin 197909. The /15 result is consistent with Ping.pe describing one covering ROA for AS197909. It does not decide whether the additional AS210860 max-length 24 ROA listed by check-host.cc is live, stale or ever authoritative; that mirror disagreement remains open. RPKI validity establishes cryptographic route-origin authorisation, not legal ownership. No IPv6 prefix and no AS210860-origin combination was tested in this pass.

A PeeringDB-derived self-declaration adds a data-quality contradiction: the PeeringDB network 37752 entry declares prefixes and an open peering policy for AS210860 even though no October 2026 routing observation shows it announcing anything.

The corporate trail rests on mirrors. Northdata's record for EDEKA Verwaltungs- und Beteiligungs GmbH, HRB 90516 and Northdata's record for EDEKA DIGITAL GmbH, HRB 113314 agree that EDEKA DIGITAL GmbH was merged into EDEKA Verwaltungs- und Beteiligungs GmbH, both Hamburg, with register entry on 5 August 2025. A single dcxv.com transfer record purports to show a December 2025 /24 transfer between the two entities via RIPE, but it carries an internal country-label defect and no second mirror reproduces it. Handelsregister primary publication was not retrievable in this pass, so whether EDEKA Verwaltungs- und Beteiligungs GmbH legally succeeded to the number resources remains mirror-based inference.
