Summary

  • AS210860, the autonomous system for which the RIPE role object DFINFRA (DA9499-RIPE) is the administrative and technical contact, has announced zero prefixes to the global routing table since 26 March 2026, a silence three independent routing observers agree on, and RIPEstat's most recent retained snapshot (dated 14 September 2026) shows no RIS-visible originations and no transit role (RIPEstat).
  • The registry layer beneath that silence is older still: the aut-num and the DA9499-RIPE role object are both last-modified 27 October 2021, and the only 2026 registry edit in the stack is the organisation object on 13 May 2026 (BTW).
  • The only observable address resource beyond the AS itself is the parent IPv4 block 193.20.0.0/15, registration DE-EDEKA-19960717, described as "EDEKA IT on-prem services", maintainer EDDI-MNT (DCXV).
  • Registration facts and routing absence are different kinds of evidence. The stack proves a registration footprint and historical routing activity; it does not establish live infrastructure, and it does not resolve who operates anything.

The three layers of the stack

BTW's directory entry DFINFRA names the RIPE role object DA9499-RIPE: admin-c and tech-c of AS210860, whose as-name is edeka_digital and whose organisation is ORG-EDG14-RIPE. The role object was created 10 June 2021 and last modified 27 October 2021, with maintainer EDDI-MNT (IP.CC). An independent WHOIS mirror reproduces the same aut-num values — as-name edeka_digital, org ORG-EDG14-RIPE, status ASSIGNED, declared transit to AS9211 and AS13237, last modification 27 October 2021 — with personal fields redacted (Tool.mg).

The middle layer is routing. Since 26 March 2026, AS210860 has announced zero prefixes to the global routing table. RIPEstat's retained view, stamped 14 September 2026, states that the AS does not originate prefixes visible in RIS and is not seen in RIS as transiting (RIPEstat). Hurricane Electric's toolkit is reported — second-hand, through sources citing it — as listing zero announced prefixes and one observed peer, AS9211 (Nawork Internet Informationssysteme GmbH) (Hurricane Electric). BTW's own synthesis of these observers reaches the same conclusion (BTW).

The bottom layer is the address space. The only resource linked to ORG-EDG14-RIPE beyond the AS is the parent IPv4 block 193.20.0.0/15, carrying registration DE-EDEKA-19960717 with the description "EDEKA IT on-prem services", maintainer EDDI-MNT, registry RIPE, Germany; no additional ASNs are shown for the organisation handle (DCXV). From that block, AS210860's single historically originated prefix was 193.21.248.0/21, attributed to EDEKA DIGITAL GmbH, with zero RPKI-valid and zero RPKI-invalid originated entries (Hurricane Electric).

What the mirrors disagree about

The evidence is not uniform. RIPEstat renders the ASN's RIR status as RESERVED with no holder and no name, while the WHOIS mirrors render status ASSIGNED with the organisation ORG-EDG14-RIPE (RIPEstat). That discrepancy is unresolved in all retained material, and neither rendering carries adjudicative weight: one is a derived status field on a dated snapshot, the other a mirror reproduction of registry text whose authoritative endpoint has repeatedly returned an unreadable application shell.

The organisation's legal name is likewise unstable across mirrors. IP.CC renders ORG-EDG14-RIPE as EDEKA DIGITAL GmbH (IP.CC); DCXV renders the same handle as EDEKA Verwaltungs- und Beteiligungs GmbH, Hamburg, HRB 90516 (DCXV). The temporal resolution is a merger recorded 5 August 2025 in the Hamburg commercial register, making one the successor of the other — but the registry object itself was last reported modified 13 May 2026, before the merger entry's rendering propagated to all mirrors.

Finally, a PeeringDB-derived record self-declares 10 IPv4 prefixes, 1 IPv6 prefix and an open peering policy for the network (BTW). Every independent routing observation contradicts it. Self-declared commercial records evidence stated intent, not activity; they do not outweigh third-party routing observation.

What changed since September 2026

Nothing observable. No prefix re-announcement, no modification of the aut-num or the DA9499-RIPE role object — both remain last-modified 27 October 2021 — and RIPE's IPv4 transfer statistics show no entry for the address space (BTW, BTW). The Hurricane Electric report layer itself carries an update stamp of 31 August 2026 on its prefix report index, so even the reporting infrastructure predates this assessment (Hurricane Electric).

The evidentiary ceiling

Three conclusions are supportable. First, the registration record exists and has been stable: an allocation from 1996, contact objects and an aut-num from 2021, essentially untouched since. Second, the routing layer is silent over a defined window — an absence of origination evidence since 26 March 2026, not proof that no infrastructure exists, since internal use, dark space, leased space or decommissioning are indistinguishable from the outside. Third, the operation question is open: nothing in the observable stack establishes who operates infrastructure, who beneficially holds the resources, or why the records froze in 2021.

Registry staleness measures record maintenance, not machine activity, and this stack proves a registration footprint — nothing more.
