Everllence has signed an agreement to supply 24 18V51/60G gas engines for a hyperscale data centre in the United States that the company says will operate completely off-grid. Everllence says the engines will provide a combined 480MW and power AI and cloud applications.
The engines will run on natural gas. Everllence says selective catalytic reduction and oxidation catalysts will allow them to meet required emissions standards, while the 51/60G can also operate with up to 25% hydrogen. Delivery is scheduled in two phases from mid-2026, with commissioning aligned with the data centre’s expansion. Everllence has not named the customer or disclosed the project location.
The assessment
The planned off-grid design shifts power generation onto the data-centre site. Rather than rely on grid supply for this project, the customer plans to generate electricity with 24 on-site engines. Engine installation, fuel supply and commissioning therefore become part of the data-centre delivery schedule.
The undisclosed location limits what can be assessed about delivery. Everllence does not identify the site’s natural-gas supply or permitting status, and it gives no date for individual engines to begin operating.
