  • AIMS launches KL2 Data Centre with 100% uptime guarantee and AI-optimised design, supporting high-power density and scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • KL2 and KL1 form a redundant, low-latency ecosystem with seamless connectivity, ensuring resilience, security, and always-on performance.
  • AIMS reinforces sustainability with 268,800 Hydropower Renewable Energy Certificates, highlighting commitment to renewable energy and green operations.

AIMS Group has officially introduced Bangunan AIMS (KL2), a 7.5MW IT load data centre located adjacent to Menara AIMS (KL1) in Kuala Lumpur’s central business district. Designed to address the growing need for carrier-neutral ecosystem data centres, KL2 is poised to cater to enterprises seeking high-performance, scalable infrastructure solutions.

Unmatched uptime guarantee and AI-ready design

This new facility sets a significant benchmark by offering the region’s first 100% infrastructure uptime guarantee to its clientele. Featuring advanced AI capabilities, Bangunan AIMS is engineered to handle the rigorous computational demands of AI workloads. With a high-power density supporting upwards of 20kW per rack, its robust and forward-thinking design enables it to serve enterprise and OTT customers while meeting the intensifying requirements for AI computing resources.

Seamless connectivity and redundancy

Bangunan AIMS and Menara AIMS operate as a cohesive ecosystem, delivering exceptional redundancy and resilience. Through the AIMS Campus Cross Connect, the two data centres provide a dedicated, highly diverse, and redundant interconnection network. This setup ensures low-latency, always-on connectivity, maximum security, and guaranteed uptime for all clients.

Our aspiration of becoming the region’s leading ecosystem data centre is on the right path. Based on current discussions with our customers, we expect Bangunan AIMS to be fully taken up by year end.

Chiew Kok Hin, Chief Executive Officer of AIMS

Chiew Kok Hin, Chief Executive Officer of AIMS, expressed optimism about the development: “Our vision of establishing ourselves as the region’s premier ecosystem data centre is well on track. Based on ongoing dialogues with our clients, we anticipate KL2 will be fully occupied by the end of this year.”

Green credentials and sustainable energy commitment

AIMS has reinforced its sustainability credentials by securing contracts as one of 15 successful bidders across diverse industries for a combined total of 268,800 Hydropower Renewable Energy Certificates for 2024 (HRECv24). These certificates, generated by Sarawak Energy Berhad’s Murum Hydropower Plant, underline AIMS’ dedication to adopting renewable energy solutions within its operations.
