A hybrid badge is easy to print. The harder number is who appears in the second list.

LACNIC's event system now exposes both sides of LACNIC 46–LACNOG 2026. Its registered view contains 1,247 rows, matching the page header: 868 participants selected In person and 379 selected Remote. A separate Asistentes view contains 946 rows. Its Participation labels split into 747 In person and 199 Remote. The official event statistics chart independently lists 868 Presencial and 379 Remoto registrations.

Put each roster count beside its registration count. The public table contains 86.1% as many in-person rows as the registration view has in-person rows; for remote, the ratio is 52.5%. That is a 33.6-point difference between the two ratios. The mix shifts too: remote makes up 30.4% of registration rows and 21.0% of Asistentes rows, a 9.4-point change.

The public system records a different mode mix across its two lists. LACNIC publishes no check-in method, Asistentes entry rule, or completeness statement; whether every in-person check-in and remote join should create one row is the missing fact that would change the reading.

The distinction matters to the next hybrid event. Registration captures a declared mode; the later roster is the event record the system chooses to publish. Treating them as one turnout metric blurs access, check-in and reporting into a single number. A public list can still help. It cannot do all three jobs at once.

LACNIC 46 ran from 19 to 22 October in Mendoza. Its portal kept the registration headline visible after the event while publishing a separate attendee table underneath. That interface gives readers the raw ingredients for a comparison but leaves the denominator rules off the page. A conference can announce a hybrid format in one line; the audit trail needs one line for each mode and one definition of who counts.
