Summary

  • InternetNZ says it posted PDF and Word versions of the 2026 AGM Q&A on 12 October, after members carried Motion 2 on 13 August.
  • The motion set a two-month publication requirement; the organization says the files contain the questions asked at the meeting and its responses.
  • InternetNZ describes thematic grouping as a practical response to an online meeting with more than 1,000 attendees, where live question handling could not run alongside the agenda.

InternetNZ published its 2026 Annual General Meeting question-and-answer files on 12 October, ahead of the two-month calendar point following the 13 August meeting. The files are labelled “2026 AGM Q&A Member Motion 2” and are offered in PDF and Word formats. The organization says they contain all questions asked at the AGM event and InternetNZ’s responses.

The timing follows a member decision. Motion 2, carried at the AGM, asks Internet New Zealand Incorporated to publish within two months of each annual meeting a complete and unedited record of every question members asked at the meeting, with a full written answer to each. InternetNZ’s public outcomes table records the motion as carried, but does not show its vote count.

The publication sits beside a separate, themed question-and-answer section. InternetNZ says members sent questions before, during and after the meeting. Where possible, answers to questions submitted before the event went into the AGM presentation; other questions were collated by theme and answered afterward. The organization says more than 1,000 people attended and that live question-and-answer sessions were not feasible while the necessary meeting business proceeded.

Those two formats serve different purposes. Themed answers make a large body of correspondence easier to navigate. A question-by-question record, as Motion 2 describes it, gives members a way to compare a specific question with the answer published for it. InternetNZ presents the files as the meeting record, but this report has not independently reconciled them against a recording or transcript. The public outcome confirms that the motion carried; it does not establish a separate enforcement mechanism. InternetNZ’s FAQ says member motions cannot direct staff or bind matters outside the AGM’s authority.

The immediate news is therefore both a publication and a testable process: a dated release followed a member-set interval. The next useful comparison is whether future AGM records appear within the same period and keep the meeting-question scope distinct from email questions and thematic summaries.
