On the same day, Huawei and Amazon announced the signing of a multi-year patent cross-licensing agreement, resolving litigation between the two parties. Most terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Fan Zhiyong, head of Huawei’s Intellectual Property Department, stated that Huawei had ended its litigation against Amazon in Germany over WiFi and video playback-related patent technologies.
Fan Zhiyong, director of Huawei’s Intellectual Property Department, said: “Huawei is pleased to reach a patent cross-licensing with Amazon. Through patent licensing, more companies can use proprietary technology, which will help provide more innovative products and services to consumers.”
