RIPE usually opens registration for the next meeting at the close of the current one. On 30 October, that opening did not happen. Kühne said RIPE was replacing its home-grown system; work on the new system was still underway, and participants would get an update in January.

The outgoing meeting counted more than 600 check-ins across on-site and online participation. Kühne reported 88 newcomers on site and 40 online, with people from 54 countries. The closing transcript does not break the 600-plus figure into on-site and online totals.

That puts the attendee’s calendar ahead of RIPE’s registration page: travel planning has a week and a city, while signup has only a month.
