EQT’s strategic move

The Swedish investment firm EQT has agreed to sell Rimes to Five Arrows, the alternative assets unit of Rothschild & Co., based in New York. Rimes specializes in providing enterprise data management and investment intelligence solutions to asset managers in the investment industry, facilitating the sourcing, validation, and configuration of market data.

Rimes’ evolution and solutions

EQT has supported Rimes’ growth since 2020, when the firm made a significant investment aimed at further developing its technology.

Rimes’ solution suite includes Matrix IDM, the Australian investment data management platform it acquired in 2021. Additionally, the company established a new AI product division last year.

Anticipated growth under new ownership

Five Arrows, with global assets under management exceeding €26 billion, utilized its long-term fund FALT and principal investments division FAPI to facilitate the acquisition.

Both parties anticipate the transaction, the details of which remain undisclosed, to be finalized “in the coming months,” pending regulatory approval.

Brad Hunt, CEO of Rimes, expresses confidence that the acquisition will bolster their momentum moving forward. Vivek Kumar and Sacha Oshry, partners at FAPI, remark that Five Arrows aims to unlock the next phase of Rimes’ growth.
