Emotional clothing may combine biometric sensors, software interpretation and changing colour, shape or light. None of those layers can know a person’s inner state with certainty, and an inaccurate public display may matter at work, school or home. Designers should minimise collection, explain confidence, offer a physical off state and prevent an employer or platform from silently changing the purpose. The next useful evidence is a privacy and failure test with the network unavailable and the inference wrong. The wearer should still decide what the garment reveals.
