The Dutch semiconductor-equipment maker ASML Holding N.V. (ASML) announced on Tuesday that its Supervisory Board intends to appoint Christophe Fouquet as president and chief executive officer, subject to notification of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 25 April.
About Christophe Fouquet
Christophe Fouquet, a French national, was born in 1973, a member of the Board of Management since 2018 (term expires in 2026). Christophe joined ASML in 2008 and has held several management positions in marketing and product management.
Christophe holds a master’s degree in physics from the Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble. Before ASML, he worked at semiconductor equipment industry peers KLA Tencor and Applied Materials.
After being hired for the position in November, Fouquet has been with the company for 15 years and was previously in charge of its top “EUV” product lines. He replaces Peter Wennink, the company’s retiring CEO, who led the company for more than ten years, during which time its share price more than tenfold increased and it grew to become the largest tech company in Europe, valued at more than 300 billion euros ($320 billion).

The Dutch semiconductor equipment maker said Thursday that simultaneously Co-Presidents Peter Wennink and Martin van den Brink will retire upon completion of their current appointment terms.
Fouquet, 50, began his new position as the head of the biggest technology company in Europe on Wednesday at the ASML annual meeting in Veldhoven, the Netherlands.
“I’m very happy … to be able to write the next chapter of ASML and to continue to build significant value for our shareholders,” Fouquet said.
Chairman of ASML Nils Andersen declared the appointment approved without requiring a vote.
