Wildanet, an internet service provider based in Cornwall, has teamed up with network specialist Xantaro to accelerate the rollout of gigabit-capable full fibre broadband across rural areas of Cornwall. The initiative is supported by Project Gigabit, the UK Government’s programme aimed at bringing high-speed internet to hard-to-reach communities, with £77 million allocated to connect over 35,000 premises in the region.

Xantaro’s role includes supplying pre-integrated street cabinets and exchange solutions. These systems are designed to simplify and speed up deployment while also improving reliability and reducing maintenance needs. The cabinets feature heat exchangers to control humidity and dust, Nokia Optical Line Terminals (OLTs) to enable fast internet access, and built-in monitoring tools to detect faults in real time.
