Scala Data Centers has raised US $328 million to expand operations in Chile. The deal includes US $254 million in project finance and a US $74 million VAT facility. Funding will support three hyperscale data centres and the Nova Lampa power substation. The transaction is backed by MUFG, SMBC, BNP Paribas and Natixis. It is Scala’s first international project finance deal and its first green-labelled cross-border financing. The new facilities are located in Lampa, Huechuraba 2 and Curauma.
