• The new product is built on cutting-edge artificial intelligence, which it claims can rival the capabilities of Alphabet and compete with them.
  • The new product is an extension of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, enabling ChatGPT to directly retrieve information from the web.

OpenAI announced that it will unveil a search product equipped with artificial intelligence capable of rivaling the search giant Google on Monday.

New version of ChatGPT

Research and development on OpenAI‘s search functionality have been underway since the past. However, according to information posted on the help center of the website, initial attempts to retrieve updated real-time information for ChatGPT, referred to as the ChatGPT plugin, were discontinued in April. As a result, the upcoming new product is currently receiving significant attention.

Since its release in 2022, ChatGPT has rapidly gained users, but it lacked a search function, imposing certain limitations on its usage. However, the upcoming new version of ChatGPT will be based on a search engine, making it a more powerful generative AI. This is expected to pose a significant threat to Google and Perplexity in terms of its capabilities.
