  • DCConnect Global’s innovative approach to connectivity and AI initiatives.

In an exclusive interview, Charmond Tsang, Chief Commercial Officer of DCConnect Global, shared his thoughts on the developments at the APRICOT 2025 event and outlined the future trends in the telecom and IT infrastructure sectors. This year marks Tsang’s third appearance at APRICOT, and he expressed excitement about the event, highlighting the vibrant discussions and the increased demand for better services, competitive prices, and more collaboration across the industry. According to Tsang, the focus of the event revolved around the need for innovative solutions, including the adoption of IPv6 and enhanced security measures.

Tsang also introduced DCConnect Global’s offerings, including their connectivity solutions, data centre interconnectivity, and their commitment to automating network services via their SDN platform. He emphasised the company’s belief in collaboration, pointing out that building networks with partners is essential for long-term success. Furthermore, Tsang discussed DCConnect Global’s involvement in AI and Web3, particularly their development of a decentralized Web3 network called Televerse, which aims to offer a more flexible and secure infrastructure using blockchain technology.

Q1: How do you feel about the APRICOT 2025 event, and what are your main key takeaways from this event?

A: I’m so excited to be here because I think this year, 2025, is the best year that I’ve ever had. I’ve been to APRICOT three times; this is my third time here. I think this year we see a lot of industry experts, telco carriers, and people in the internet industry all coming together with a lot of good discussion. The vibe is really good here.

What I see from this year is that there are a lot more people demanding better services, more competitive prices, more collaborations, and more advanced ways to do things. A couple of topics we talked about, such as IPv6 and security, are very interesting. I joined a couple of panel discussions and listened to experts about the future of the internet. I think it’s amazing, with a lot of good insights. One of the most interesting topics discussed was how to survive, which I think is brilliant.

Q2: Could you basically introduce what services and products you guys are actually offering?

A: Let me describe DCConnect. We are in the connectivity business and also in the software (SaaS) business. In terms of connectivity, we build global Points of Presence (POPs) and use layer 1, layer 2, and layer 3 backbone to connect things on POP together. We also build an SDN service on top of this, with a portal that we built ourselves. This portal is an SDN platform where you can order, inquire, place orders, and handle connectivity requirements instantly.

We offer data center to data center interconnectivity, data center to cloud, as well as data center to the internet. We automate everything and don’t believe in legacy networks anymore because we see network services evolving.

Q3: As the CCO of DCConnect Global, what do you think are the prominent trends shaping the current telecom and IT infrastructure?

A: Last year, many incidents happened in the global submarine network, with a lot of cable cuts, leading everyone to talk about resilience and security. We realized that the internet almost broke down due to so many cables being down. To build a better network, you need partners and better technology to work effectively with them.

We believe in collaboration and automation, working with different partners globally to form a better network. The need for collaboration among partners is increasing.

Another trend is the rapid development of AI initiatives. Nowadays, every telco CEO and CTO must have an AI strategy. If you don’t have one, you’re falling behind.

Q4: What would be DCConnect Global’s AI initiatives?

A: We are involved in connectivity for GPU farms and also in Web3 related business. One of the services we are developing is called Televerse, a decentralized Web3 network. The idea is to build a decentralized network that leverages existing infrastructure using blockchain technology. We also introduced the concept of a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) to govern the Web3 network.

We have been working on this project for the last two years and have showcased it at international events. Stay tuned to our website for more updates.
