IBM, Fortinet announce the vFSA on IBM Cloud IBM cloud and Fortinet announce the availability of the Fortinet Virtual FortiGate Security Appliance (vFSA) on IBM cloud. The vFSA on IBM cloud extends the security capabilities of FortiGate’s next-generation firewalls (NGFW) across the IBM cloud network. The vFSA on IBM cloud is a virtual security appliance with technology enablement provided by FortiFlex. FortiFlex, a flexible usage-based licencing program from Fortinet is designed to help support organisations to dynamically right-size their services and spend while securing their cloud and hybrid environments. The vFSA includes advanced threat protection capabilities that enable it to inspect application traffic across the network and stop attacks or suspicious activity. It also has AI-based inline malware protection and enhanced sandboxing to detect and eliminate publicly documented context and zero-day threats. It can also monitor and filter network traffic to provide remote access and visibility into newly added devices, such as IoT devices.
