Summary
- ARIN’s 3 November transfer export had three nonoverlapping Krypt Technologies transfers covering 20,480 addresses in the 2009 source range
173.214.0.0/17. The remaining 12,288 were173.214.64.0/19and173.214.112.0/20. - The 4 November export adds both missing pieces: 4,096 addresses to DODO K.K. via RIPE NCC at 14:40:41 UTC on 3 November, and 8,192 to GoNetSpeed within ARIN at 21:55:23. Five transfer intervals now tile the entire /17 exactly.
This is a ledger story with an ending. The first three recipient slices went to NORTH CENTRAL TELEPHONE COOPERATIVE CORPORATION (173.214.0.0/19, 8,192), TensorWave Inc. (173.214.32.0/19, 8,192) and Fatbeam, LLC (173.214.96.0/20, 4,096). That left two slots open in the original 32,768-address range. ARIN’s next daily export fills those exact slots, down to the last address. No range overlaps another and no address is left between them.
The new pair took different administrative exits. DODO K.K. received 173.214.112.0/20 through an ARIN-to-RIPE NCC transfer; RIPE’s incoming table independently lists that /20 and recipient. GoNetSpeed received 173.214.64.0/19 as an ARIN-to-ARIN transfer seven hours, 14 minutes and 42 seconds later. The transfer file dates both to 3 November. The /17 that started as one Krypt source envelope is now registered in four exact ARIN recipient objects and one exact RIPE NCC object.
Those five cards have names: NCTC, TensorWave, GoNetSpeed, Fatbeam and DODO. The ARIN objects identify the first four as registrants; RIPE’s exact /20 object identifies DODO K.K. The arithmetic is three /19 blocks at 8,192 addresses each plus two /20s at 4,096 each. That is exactly 32,768, the size of 173.214.0.0/17. ARIN repeats the original 2009 /17 envelope in each transfer row, but the transfer_set field holds the actual departing slice. Counting envelopes instead of slices would make this one block appear five times as large.
The registry handoff matters because the final /20 crossed an RIR border. The records give five destinations for this specific old block; they do not supply a common operating plan. Here the bookkeeper’s useful job is exactness: the old drawer is empty for this /17, and every piece has a named current card.
