Gamma Communications completes acquisition of STARFACE

Gamma's completed STARFACE acquisition is a evidence-led consolidation signal in German cloud communications. The deal gives Gamma control of a proprietary STARFACE PBX and collaboration software group, plus a channel ecosystem that can accelerate SME UCaaS adoption across the DACH region.

Gamma Communications completed its acquisition of STARFACE Group after receiving regulatory approval in February 2025. The completed deal gives Gamma control of a German unified communications and cloud PBX software group that includes STARFACE GmbH, estos, STARFACE WhiteLabel and vio:networks. Gamma says the transaction lifts its German cloud-seat base above 500,000 and strengthens its position as a challenger to incumbent telecom providers in Germany.

The control surface is Gamma's route into the DACH small and midsize business communications market. STARFACE brings proprietary IP telephony, cloud PBX and collaboration software plus a channel partner ecosystem. Gamma brings a pan-European communications platform, existing German assets and balance-sheet capacity. The acquisition matters because it shifts a German SME communications stack from private-equity ownership into a listed European communications group with a broader UCaaS and connectivity portfolio.

The impact mechanism is integration risk and channel leverage. If Gamma keeps STARFACE's partner base intact while adding connectivity, security and broader cloud communications services, the combined business can push deeper into Germany's lower-cloud-penetration SME market. The watchpoints are product roadmap alignment, partner retention, migration pressure on legacy PBX customers, cross-sell into Germany, treatment of the estos and vio:networks brands, and whether Gamma can convert acquired seats into durable recurring revenue.
