• A Baltimore County High School teacher spread rumors through AI with ill will as headteacher conducts corruption investigation.
  • The teacher used AI voice clone technology, which is a rapid increase in crime. This is because learning a short voice file for a few tens of seconds can perfectly reproduce someone’s voice.

A physical education teacher who generated and distributed fake principals using artificial intelligence has been arrested in a surprise move. However, the charges against him are not related to deepfake, but charges such as obstruction of school management, retaliation, stalking, and theft.

Spread a rumor

The teacher produced an AI voice about Eric Eiswert, the principal of the school he worked at, and distributed it on social media. The deepfake voice, in particular, contained racist and anti-Semitic content. The voice began with “ungrateful black children” mentioned certain teachers, and said, “They should be fired.”

The police wrote in the indictment that the AI generated by the teacher had a significant negative impact on the community. Not only was the principal temporarily removed from the school, but he also received hateful messages on social media and numerous phone calls to the school, he explained.

About AI deepvoice

Deep voice is a combination of deep learning and voice, which is a learning method of artificial intelligence, and refers to a technology that AI learns and reproduces the voice of a specific person. To use deep voice technology, a “sample” to be used by AI to learn is needed. However, the method of preparing a sample is too simple. All you need is a 30-second voice file that records the target’s voice.

Even AI imitates emotions by imitating the pitch and volume of voices in the file, so the result is very complete.
Since AI deep voice technology is also widely used for crimes, we should also be careful about deep voice phishing.
