• The upcoming smartphone, P70, of China-based tech company Huawei, has drawn customers’ interests and curiosities.
  • It is wondered if the P70 can continue the glory of the M60, which made the company jump back into the premium smartphone market in 2023.
  • The P70 may share the M60’s disadvantage of being out of stock.

Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, has attracted interested customers to register to receive the latest information about the upcoming smartphone P70, stoking predictions about its high-end P series phones.

About Huawei’s series

Huawei‘s P series stands out for its cutting-edge camera capabilities and elegant design, whereas the Mate series, also positioned in the high-end segment, prioritizes performance and incorporates business-oriented features.

The Mate 60, which attracted notice for its introduction during a visit to China by US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, was not subjected to any prior advertising or specification disclosure. Consequently, several users and companies endeavoured to disassemble the phones, aiming to assess their capabilities.

A crucial restraint for Mate 60 is the availability of stock, which is attributed to the production constraints and the urgency of prioritizing the production of AI chips, sources have said.

The predictions for P70

Predictions become more and more recently that the P70 will contain an advanced China-made chip, like the Mate 60.

The launch of Huawei’s Mate 60 series brought it back to the premium smartphone market in 2023, which is said to result in a steep decline in Apple’s iPhone sales in China. P70 is expected whether it can continue Huawei’s triumph over American sanctions on the firm.

On April 11, a product launch did not mention P70 but interested buyers could register to receive information about the phone including the phone’s specs and colours in due course. This lower-profile tactic is regarded as “kill two birds with one stone”—keeping a “quiet voice” amid US-Sino trade tension maintains mystery and draws customers’ strong curiosity.

The lack of stock may be the constraint for P70.
