What happened: TelCables Nigeria enhances digital connectivity with new PoP at Lagos Rack Centre

TelCables Nigeria, a subsidiary of Angola Cables, has launched a new Point of Presence (PoP) at the Lagos Rack Centre facility. This PoP aims to significantly enhance low-latency interconnectivity and cloud access for businesses, hyperscalers, and enterprises in West Africa. The PoP uses direct connections to Angola Cables’ SACS and WACS subsea cable systems, allowing data to flow efficiently to South America, the US, and Europe via the EllaLink subsea cable. The improved connectivity will offer businesses and communities a more affordable and seamless digital experience, while the redundancy options ensure operational resilience.

The Rack Centre facility, which already supports over 68 telecommunications carriers, ISPs, and global Tier 1 networks, is expanding with the LGS 2 data centre. The new facility will offer 13.5MW of IT power and 7,200 square metres of space, making it an ideal location for hosting hyperscalers and enterprises.
