• Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has joined forces with global semiconductor and software designer Arm to establish a new ITRI・Arm SystemReady Lab in Taipei, which is the fourth certification centre.
  • The initiative aim of the new Lab is to drive the integration of AI and IoT ecosystems across Taiwan’s industrial sectors.
  • Arm looks forward to further collaboration with ecosystem partners like ITRI as they build the future of IoT on Arm.

Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has opened a new ITRI・Arm SystemReady Lab in Taipei together with global semiconductor and software designer Arm. Following labs of a similar nature in the US, Europe, and India, this certification centre is the fourth of its kind globally.

About new ITRI·Arm SystemReady Lab

The new lab will provide comprehensive certification services for the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) industry by utilizing Arm’s SystemReady compliance program in conjunction with ITRI’s strengths in research and development. The initiative seeks to accelerate the IoT and AI ecosystems’ integration throughout Taiwan’s industrial sectors.

Arm is the most pervasive computing platform in the world, and this new collaboration with ITRI demonstrates the commitment to the Taiwan market, stated CK Tseng, President of Arm Taiwan.

They hope to further advance Taiwan’s and Asia’s AIoT industry, particularly in device manufacturing, through standardization, with this fourth lab. With the Arm SystemReady Labs already in operation, globally, they have achieved over 130 certifications.

Taiwan is anticipated to gain a stronger position in the AIoT market thanks to the certification services offered by the new ITRI·Arm SystemReady Lab, which guarantees that products made by local manufacturers adhere to the most recent industry standards and specifications. This will support Taiwan’s tech sector’s innovation and increase its competitiveness worldwide.

What can the new Lab bring?

According to ITRI Executive Vice President Pei-Zen Chang, ITRI and Arm jointly established a new IC design platform for startups in 2021, which bolstered Taiwan’s IC design industry’s global market share and facilitated startups’ integration of key intellectual property to accelerate the launch of globally competitive products.

To ensure the high quality of Taiwan’s equipment manufacturers’ products while adhering to international standards, ITRI has once again partnered with Arm to establish the lab, which is expected to closely mesh Taiwan’s semiconductor supply chain with Arm’s global ecosystem.

As construct the future of IoT on Arm, Arm looks forward to continued collaboration with ecosystem partners like ITRI, CK Tseng, President of Arm Taiwan, says in closing.
