Sustainable lithium extraction technology
Lithium ONE Environmental Inc. (L1X) is pioneering a game-changing lithium extraction method that uses no water and produces hydrogen fuel as a byproduct. The company’s L1X System uses nano-extraction technology to pull 98 to 99 per cent of lithium from brine without depleting water supplies or introducing toxic chemicals. This is a significant departure from traditional methods like evaporation ponds, which waste vast amounts of water and take up to two years to process lithium. L1X’s approach not only saves water but also ensures energy efficiency, using just $100 of energy per tonne of lithium, a stark contrast to conventional methods that cost over $20,000 per tonne.

“This technology is fully commercialized, and field tested, allowing us to deploy subsequent 30,000 tonnes per annum production facilities to help meet global demand…proudly delivering on our mandate of Clean Sourced Lithium™.”
David Stevenson, CEO of Lithium ONE Environmental Inc.
Plans for scalable production and global expansion
With a $100-million demonstration facility underway in Catamarca, Argentina, L1X is set to produce 2,500 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent annually. The company is raising funds to make this facility operational within the next 18 to 24 months, and future expansions will include a $1.2-billion plant capable of producing up to 35,000 tonnes of lithium annually. L1X aims to expand its reach by securing offtake agreements with multinational car and battery manufacturers and collaborating on joint ventures with mining companies and landowners.

Commitment to clean sourced lithium
CEO David J. Stevenson highlighted the company’s dedication to delivering clean, sustainable lithium to the global market. Through the commercialisation of their fully tested extraction technology, L1X is positioning itself to meet the rapidly growing demand for EV minerals while protecting the environment. Stevenson also noted that the L1X System is designed to ensure the interests of local communities and Indigenous peoples are safeguarded, as the company expands its operations in Argentina.
