Lisbon to welcome internet infrastructure leaders at RIPE 90

The RIPE 90 meeting is set to take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 12 to 16 May 2025. Organised by the RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC), this event will gather Internet Service Providers (ISPs), network operators, and other interested parties from around the world to discuss the future of Internet infrastructure.

The meeting will feature a comprehensive programme, including plenary sessions, working group meetings, and lightning talks. Key topics will encompass routing security enhancements, and policy development processes. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions that shape the technical and policy landscape of the Internet.

In addition to the main programme, RIPE 90 will host several parallel events, such as the RIPE NCC Certified Professionals exams and the Academic and NREN Reception. These events aim to foster collaboration between academia and the network operator community.

Security working group to address emerging threats

One of the core components of RIPE 90’s agenda will be the Security Working Group (WG), scheduled to convene on Tuesday, 13 May at 16:00 WEST (UTC+1). The session will examine the latest developments in Internet security, with a strong emphasis on resilience and community response mechanisms.

The Working Group encourages contributions from both in-person and remote participants, aiming to foster an inclusive environment for knowledge-sharing on topics such as threat detection, incident coordination, and security policy implementation. The open format provides an opportunity for network operators, incident response teams, and infrastructure providers to exchange insights into practical challenges faced across different regions and sectors.

By facilitating peer-driven dialogue, the session intends to strengthen the operational security practices of the wider technical community.
