Oracle and Rai Way announced a strategic partnership to integrate Oracle’s advanced artificial intelligence systems into Rai Way’s data centres across Italy on Thursday. This collaboration will enable Oracle’s corporate clients to utilise the company’s comprehensive suite of database solutions, cloud services, and disaster recovery technologies at Rai Way’s facilities, some of which are strategically located in more remote areas.

The partnership aims to leverage Rai Way’s existing infrastructure, primarily associated with the broadcasting operations of Italian state television RAI, to expand into a diversified carrier-neutral network of data centres. These data centres will be interconnected through a proprietary fibre optic network spanning over 6,000 kilometres. By siting some of the data centres in less populated regions, the companies believe they can provide enhanced cybersecurity measures, as the remote locations add an additional layer of protection against cybercriminals attempting to geographically locate sensitive data.
