In Burundi, Onatel successfully organises professional training and installation of a broadband wireless network through a partnership with ITU. This training not only upgrades the technical skills of local experts, but also contributes to the digital transformation and IT development in Burundi. Onatel’s professional training covers various modules such as preparation, installation and configuration of network equipment, as well as configuration and operation of the network management system, which resulted in 13 local engineers receiving certificates and assisting in the completion of the network installation.
Onatel’s network installation and commissioning work are successfully executed in Bujumbura Mairie, including the installation, commissioning and implementation of RF equipment, as well as network design and coverage implementation. The coverage of the network includes three sites in the capital city of Bujumbura and sites in several other cities across the country.
