• The Sharia-compliant facility will support M-VAULT 6, 7 and 8, taking MEEZA's planned data-centre capacity above 60MW
  • M-VAULT 6 is under construction and M-VAULT 7 was in final design, while MEEZA has not published a timetable for M-VAULT 8

The fact

Qatar-based data-centre and managed IT provider MEEZA has secured an additional QAR1.6bn Commodity Murabaha facility from Dukhan Bank. The funding will support M-VAULT 6, M-VAULT 7 and M-VAULT 8, which MEEZA expects to add about 44MW of capacity and take its total above 60MW.

The financing follows a QAR800m facility arranged with Dukhan Bank in 2025. In its 2025 annual report, MEEZA said the 24MW M-VAULT 6 campus in Um Garn was under construction, with its first 6MW planned to become operational by the end of 2027. M-VAULT 7, a planned 16MW facility at Qatar Science and Technology Park, was in final design, with construction expected to begin in 2026. The latest announcement does not provide a development timetable for M-VAULT 8 or a date for the full 44MW to enter service.

The assessment

The new facility gives MEEZA a funding source for three projects, but those projects are not moving on the same timetable. The 44MW programme will therefore be delivered through separate construction and commissioning phases rather than as one block of capacity. For customers planning future deployments, phase-level dates matter more than the overall capacity target. Financing can support the build programme, but usable capacity still depends on each phase being completed, powered, tested and commissioned. For BTW readers, MEEZA's planned 44MW should be tracked as a series of capacity additions.

The next useful evidence is a project-by-project schedule showing when each M-VAULT phase could enter service.

What to watch

Watch whether M-VAULT 6's first 6MW remains on track for the end of 2027, when M-VAULT 7 moves from design into construction, and when MEEZA publishes a schedule for M-VAULT 8. Phase-level commissioning dates will show how the 44MW programme is being sequenced and when additional capacity could become available.
