• Instagram and Twitch have announced that they are enhancing their algorithmic features, similar to TikTok. This decision comes amidst the U.S. ban on TikTok, providing users with a broader scope to discover content, even from accounts they don’t follow within the app.
  • With TikTok continuing to attract interest and amassing more than 1 billion monthly active users worldwide, competitors such as YouTube and Snapchat have sought to challenge its dominance by popularizing their own short-form video feeds.

The U.S. video streaming platform Twitter, as reported by The Verge, announced its plans to introduce a feature similar to TikTok for some users.

Similar to TikTok, Twitch’s discovery feed focuses on live broadcasts, unlike TikTok, which uses algorithms to provide users with clips created by creators but mainly displays short videos. “Currently, clips will be displayed horizontally, but as features improve, vertical clips will also be displayed.” a Twitch official said.

“The Discovery Feed will help users participate in new live broadcasts.” Twitch plans to introduce Instagram-like stories to the platform, following a vertically scrolling video output method similar to the discovery feed.
