Hyundai Motor Group of South Korea will introduce its first electric cars made in India by 2025. Production of Hyundai’s locally manufactured EVs will begin by the end of 2024 and will be launched by 2025, along with Kia’s India-made EV. Hyundai completed the acquisition of a former Chevrolet plant in western Maharashtra state earlier this year. South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group will launch its first India-manufactured electric vehicles by 2025 as the parent of the Hyundai and Kia brands looks to boost its presence in the nascent space dominated by Tata Motors. Additionally, the company reiterated Hyundai’s goal of producing one million units annually by 2025 and announced plans to increase Kia’s capacity to 432,000 from roughly 300,000. More information The Hyundai Motor Group announced will reveal five models by 2030 and that production of Hyundai’s domestically produced EVs will start by the end of 2024 and be launched by 2025, along with Kia’s EV made in India, according to Reuters. Hyundai and Kia, both brands will use batteries made by Exide Energy Solutions to power their EVs, they had said earlier this month. As part of its effort to increase production to one million units, Hyundai completed the purchase of a former Chevrolet plant in the western state of Maharashtra earlier this year. During his second visit to India in less than a year, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung made the announcements.
