Hurricane Electric, a global IPv6-native internet service provider, has launched a new Point of Presence (PoP) at the Coloware YTZ-1 data centre in Toronto. This is the company’s fifth PoP in Toronto and its 20th in Canada. The YTZ-1 facility holds Tier III+ certification and features robust power backup, advanced cooling systems, round-the-clock security monitoring, and early smoke detection capabilities. It also offers secure cabinet solutions, private space options, and direct fibre optic connections.

The PoP allows local customers to connect to Hurricane Electric’s dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 networks through 100GE, 10GE, and GigE port configurations. This implementation enhances network reliability, optimizes traffic distribution, and minimizes congestion for businesses operating in the region.
