Google has announced three planned subsea cable systems called Alisios, Canoa, and OlaLuz as part of its wider Americas Connect network plan. Alisios would run between the Dominican Republic, Panama, and Chile. Canoa would connect the Dominican Republic with Bermuda, where Google says it could link with the Nuvem and Sol systems for onward routes towards North America and Europe. OlaLuz would provide a direct connection between the Dominican Republic and Florida.

Google also plans to add a Dominican Republic branch to its existing Firmina system. The wider design includes separate routes between Google cloud regions across the Pacific, Caribbean, and Atlantic. All three newly named cables include the Dominican Republic, making it the common landing point in the expansion. Google has not disclosed suppliers, capacity figures, construction start dates or ready-for-service targets for the three systems.
