  • Samsung is gearing up to roll out the One UI 6.1 update, which includes several Galaxy AI devices launching between 2021 and 2022.
  • The Galaxy S22 series, Flip 4, Fold 4, and the Tab S8 series will receive the same Galaxy AI features as the S23 FE.
  • However, instant Slow-Mo will remain unique to the S23 and S24 series.

Samsung plans to bring some of its Galaxy AI features to several older flagship phones and tablets next month with the One UI 6.1 update.

Models that get the AI feature

Several of its older devices from 2021 and 2022 will receive Galaxy AI features in early May, including the Galaxy S22 series, Flip 4, Fold 4, and the Tab S8 series.

This means that the devices will gain everything except for Instant Slow-mo, which will remain unique to the S23 and S24 series.

According to the company, while these devices will receive AI tools, some items will be missing.

The Galaxy S21, Flip 3, and Fold 3 are only eligible for two Galaxy AI features Google’s “Circle to Search” and Chat Assist, as those devices’ hardware capabilities likely cannot handle much more.

Further information

Samsung didn’t give a more specific date other than an “early May” launch window.

Recent phones, such as the Galaxy S23 series and last year’s foldable phones, were upgraded at the end of March with One UI 6.1.

The patch brought features such as Live Translate, Samsung’s Generative Edit, and more to owners of eligible devices.
