A renewal under `.aws` is not a cheap commodity domain purchase. It is a paid continuation of a private namespace that gives AWS Registry LLC root-zone authority, registry-policy control, DNS and RDAP accountability, and an option to make selected AWS-facing services easier to authenticate if the company decides the controlled label is worth wider use.
