• It is reported that Apple is aiming to launch M4 and plans to update every Mac model with it.
  • The PC market is in a slump and some Artificial intelligence enterprises are pulling out all the stops to break this circumstance.
  • It is a key whether Apple can hitch a ride on AI or be left behind.

Financial information provider, Bloomberg News revealed on Thursday that Apple plans to release M4 CPUs with AI processing capabilities that could be added to any Mac model in order to face the stagnant PC market.

Current PC market

Since the end of the pandemic-era boom in sales of computers for home learning and work, PC manufacturers have been in a slump. A new generation of laptops and desktops with more potent chips that can handle AI tasks like document summarization without requiring data to be sent to the cloud is where the industry has placed its hopes for a revival.

Similar chips are being developed by Qualcomm and Intel, among others. According to Reuters, Nvidia also intends to enter the PC market as early as 2025 with a new chip, leveraging its expertise in AI chips.

Apple’s plan

Apple is aiming to product M4 computer processors that have AI processing capabilities that every Mac model could be updated with, reported by Bloomberg News on Thursday.

Late this year and early next year, Apple is aiming to launch the updated computers including new iMacs, a low-end 14-inch Macbook Pro, high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and Mac minis.

Apple is planning to draw customers’ attention on the AI processing capabilities of the chips including how they will involve in the next version of macOS.

Sources have said that the iPhone maker could unveil both a new AI partnership and vital changes to the iOS. They have the ability to move through a cell network and specifically stimulate different cells.
