OUR TAKE

The Financial Times reported last week that the Pentagon has decided to remove Hesai, the world’s largest laser sensor manufacturer, from the blacklist of PLA-supported entities.

Micro Manufacturing Equipment (AMMEC) blacklisted it in the United States on suspicion of contacting the People’s Liberation Army. The lawsuit is part of a broader trend of Chinese companies trying to overturn the broader trend of the United States to blacklist Chinese companies believed to support the People’s Liberation Army. Hesai has always insisted that it was a mistake for us to be included in the 1260H list. Our products are strictly used for commercial and civilian use, and we have no contact with the Chinese military or any other military organisations. ” a spokesman added.
